The Socorro Independent School District is seeking qualified applicants to join Team SISD as substitute teachers, retired assistant principals, retired principals, substitute Employee Health Clinic personnel, and substitute nurses across the district.
SISD increased its substitute teacher, substitute administrators, and substitute nurse salary to entice more applicants to fulfill the need for substitutes across the district. In addition to the higher pay for substitutes, applicants now will need to have completed only 30 hours of college, semester hours from an accredited university/college as opposed to the former requirement of 60 hours.
The substitute teacher pay is based on experience: 30 hours college, semester hours from an accredited university/college - $100, bachelor’s degree or higher - $125, certified/retirees - $150; long term - $175. The substitute nurse pay is $275.
In addition, Monday and Friday substitute teacher pay is $150. Substitute teachers can earn a $500 retention for 100 workdays per year. Qualified individuals may apply now at www.sisd.net/jobs and must turn in all required, support documentation to the Substitute Division in the Department of Human Resources.
